DSM 5

You can continue to use your current planners with DSV IV and update to DSM-5 planners as necessary.

DSM-5 Planners are necessary to create DSM-5 compliant Treatment Plans using the Wiley Treatment Planner modules.

DSM-IV patients and and modules will still function. Obviously, they won't have DSM-5 diagnoses or ICD-10 codes.
Because of the significance of the change there is no automatic method to "update" patients to DSM-5 from DSM-IV.

You can simply activate your current installation with the Registration Code.
You will need to create a new database or connect to an existing database after registration. You cannot connect to a trial database once registered.

From a version number perspective, the difference is in which numbers change.  15.1 to 15.2 or 15.2 to 16.1 is considered a major update.  15.1.0 to 15.1.1 is a minor update.

From a functional perspective, major updates will typically include new features or functionality.  Minor updates will typically include changes to current functionality that may need to be re-factored for various reasons.

We plan to publish two major updates each year -- e.g:  Spring (15.1) Fall (15.2) -- which will include new features and functionality.  However, if there is a code change that is essential to the current functionality then a new minor version update (15.1x) would be released ahead of that schedule.

Licensing

A user license for a given major release (e.g.: 15.x) is valid indefinitely. Each time you renew the annual maintenance agreement, new user license(s) will be granted for that major release.

Yes. Using the Modify Activation button at the bottom of the provider screen, one can rename a provider or transfer the license to another user/provider. First create the new provider and then use the Modify button to transfer the license.

Yes.  By default, we allow 2 installations per license.  If more are required due to reasonable circumstances, you can request additional installations.

Yes.  A location can split their system into multiple databases.  The same activation code will be used so the licenses in both systems will count towards the total number of licenses purchased.

To activate a user in more than one database will require a license for each database.

The application can be downloaded by visiting www.therascribe.com and clicking on Downloads from the homepage.  Planners and modules will be emailed to you after purchase.

Support

If you purchase the software and user licenses then you will be provided 1 year of software updates and support.  If you elect to to renew the maintenance plan, then you will continue to receive these services. 

You can also elect not to purchase the maintenance plan and purchase updates and support as needed.  Off-plan support is charged at $125/hr.

Because disk crashes are all too common, it is critical to maintain separate backups of the TheraScribe data file(s). (TheraScribe?.mdb)

If your computer crashes and you're unable to activate upon reinstallation, please check w/ Tech Support to allow another install -- 616-776-1745 x5 or email Support@TheraScribe.com and include your registration code.

Yes.  PEC Technologies provides customization services for TheraScribe.  However, once you do a customization of a screen or report, we can't guarantee that it will be compatible w/ future releases.  We can review your customization to let you know whether it's compatible and, if not, what it would cost to make it compatible.  Customization is quoted on a per instance basis @ $125/hr.

Warranty

We do not provide a warranty period as such -- as is typical of software purchases.  We do encourage those who are not familiar with the application to install the Trial version of the application (from the homepage of TheraScribe.com) and run it in trial mode in order to make an informed decision before purchasing.  

There is also a "Training Video" that gives a detailed walk-thru of the application located under the Support menu item at TheraScribe.com.

Every new application purchase comes with 1 year of software updates and 1 year of unlimited support tickets.
